Review: "Through My Window"

Jennifer Green

Here's an example of Netflix repeating a formula (think: Elite, the After series) with mediocre results.

It's not the fault of the actors, a young and sufficiently charismatic cast, but Through My Window feels at once derivative and disappointing.

If a character is going to claim they're the "most interesting" or "dangerous" person you've ever met, the script needs to back that up.

Here, high school affairs, rich-poor divides, and family dramas are all eminently predictable.

A high point is the setting, including some gorgeous aerial views of Barcelona, but the insistence on dimly-lit interior and night scenes is more distracting than symbolic.

Considering the popularity of the genre, better viewing options exist.
